The Russian Energy Forecasting Agency took part in the Moscow International Energy Forum "Fuel and Energy Complex of Russia in XXI century"
The Russian Energy Forecasting Agency (REFA) took part in the Moscow International Energy Forum "Fuel and Energy Complex of Russia in XXI century" held in Moscow from April 4 to 7, 2012.
The forum was attended by representatives of the Government of the Russian Federation, deputies of the Federal Assembly, top managers of leading energy companies, heads of academic institutions, industrial enterprises, regional authorities representatives.
Head of REFA’s Directorate for the Central Federal District Evgeny Chicherov spoke at the round table "Problems of energy efficiency in Russia" held on April 5, and presented a report: "Peculiarities of regional energy conservation strategies".
General Director of JSC "APBE" Igor Kozhukhovsky participated in the roundtable "Modernization of Fuel and Energy Complex in Russia: regional programs, best practices, funding mechanisms" held on April 6, and presented a report "Development of small distributed energy: Opportunities and Prospects". He outlined the main trends in the world energy development, preconditions for the development of small distributed energy in Russia, a place of small distributed energy in the Russian Energy Strategy up to 2030 and in the Master Plan for power facilities allocation up to 2030. Igor Kozhukhovsky reported about the Technology Platform "Small distributed power" functioning.
Igor Kozhukhovsky noted that "the theoretical potential for electricity production growth through the replacement of boiler producing thermal power with cogeneration makes up to 500 billion kWh per year. When replacing boilers with cogeneration additional power production of up to 250 billion kWh per year can be obtained which would ensure 60% growth in country’s electricity consumption. Therefore the adjustments to the Master Plan for power facilities allocation up to 2030 with an emphasis on the development of small generation are necessary”.
